About This Wine
Metiusco Rosato 2024 is Palamà ’s vivid expression of Negroamaro in its most delicate and surprising form. Made using the traditional salasso (bleeding) method, it balances depth with a remarkable freshness that speaks of Salento’s sunlit vineyards and the family’s patient craft. The short cryomaceration captures the essence of red fruit and flowers, while the stainless-steel fermentation keeps the wine bright and pure. The result is a rosé with character: fragrant with cherries, raspberries, and hints of citrus zest, yet graceful and dry on the palate, with a savory finish that lingers. This is a rosé built for more than easy sipping—it is a versatile table wine that elevates everything from seafood stews and shellfish to vegetable pastas, white meats, and even a simple Margherita pizza. With its harmony of freshness, structure, and Mediterranean soul, Metiusco Rosato stands as a reminder of how a single native grape, carefully handled, can create a wine that feels at once rooted in tradition and refreshingly modern.
About Palama
Vinicola Palamà has been part of Salento’s landscape and culture for nearly a century, a family-run winery where the rhythm of the vineyards sets the pace of life. The land itself is generous yet demanding, with sun-drenched days and breezes from the nearby sea shaping grapes of remarkable character. Working with native varieties such as Negroamaro, Primitivo, Malvasia Nera, Malvasia Bianca, and Verdeca, the Palamà family tends their vines with the same devotion their grandparents once showed, pruning, training, and harvesting with a focus on balance and purity. Inside the winery, tradition and innovation meet with respect. The cellar, first built by Arcangelo in 1936, has evolved under the hands of Ninì and now Michele, who bring fresh vision without abandoning the roots of the estate. The work is patient and precise: careful fermentations, thoughtful blending, and constant attention to detail. Nothing is rushed, because the Palamà name is tied not only to wine, but to a way of life where effort and pride are poured into every bottle. The result is a collection of wines that carry the taste of Salento—warm, vibrant, and unmistakably authentic. They are wines that speak of the soil and the sun, of sacrifice and celebration, of generations who believed that true quality is born from patience and care. Whether it is a glass of Negroamaro full of depth and memory, or a fresh Verdeca alive with brightness, Vinicola Palamà invites you to taste not only a wine, but the story of a family and the land they call home.
